Mozilla Sets World Record

The Firefox community is the proud new owner of a Guinness World Record — each and every one of you! Mozilla today received confirmation from Guinness World Records that we’ve officially achieved the record for the “largest number of software downloads in 24 hours.” From 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3!

This is another wonderful accomplishment in a long line of them for our community! Ever since Firefox was launched in 2004 we’ve relied on our community to help us spread the word, and thanks to projects including crop circles, newspaper ads, giant stickers, videos, blogs and more we now have over 180 million users in more than 230 countries. Incredible work!

Posted in Automobiles, Tesla Motors with tags , , , , , on July 2, 2008 by illeaglealien

I’m going to start my new blog off with some news from Tesla Motors. Tesla Model S, Tesla Motors new sedan, Tesla announces new sedan, Tesla Motors electric sedan, Tesla motors manufacturing in California, Tesla Motors California manufacturing, Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S electric sedan, Tesla electric powered cars, Tesla zero emissions, Tesla California, Tesla news, Tesla Motors, tesla21.jpg We get revved up whenever we hear any news about Tesla Motors, and the latest just sets the maker of electric-powered roadsters into an all new green vehicle fast lane. Tesla Motors just announced plans to start building the Model S – an electric sedan with a 225-mile range – in the Bay Area with plans to get the five passenger vehicles on the road in two years time! Tesla Model S, Tesla Motors new sedan, Tesla announces new sedan, Tesla Motors electric sedan, Tesla motors manufacturing in California, Tesla Motors California manufacturing, Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S electric sedan, Tesla electric powered cars, Tesla zero emissions, Tesla California, Tesla news, Tesla Motors, tesla11.jpgThe much anticipated announcement was given yesterday at Tesla’s San Carlos, California facility where Tesla addressed the press alongside California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has a $100,000 Tesla Roadster on order. The plans to build the Model S in California came about by some sweet incentives from the state to keep the car maker’s manufacturing from moving to New Mexico.By choosing California as the home base for Model S, Tesla will save millions of dollars through the newly minted CAEATFA program which offers certain tax exemptions on manufacturing equipment for electric vehicles. The company would also qualify for state grants and special employee training programs. The Model S is still a bit of a mystery in terms of design and specs, but the car maker teased details that the sedan will get 225 miles per charge, cost around $60,000 and be in production late 2010.
